Tackling the Maths Problem in Ireland

Ireland is one of many countries trying to instigate reform in their math syllabus. The problems of the old teaching method were that students memorized formulas and learned how to solve math problems in a fixed way, without really understanding the core concepts. This meant as students became adults, they forgot how to use math because they never really understood it in the first place. Project Math is a new education initiative in Ireland that is trying to change how students learn math. Have a look at this video infographic commissioned by NCCA for more information.
