WizIQ is Hosting A Free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for Teachers
WizIQ is hosting a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) for teachers, who wish to teach online using Moodle and other web technologies such as WizIQ and Google Drive, commencing on June 1, 2013. The self-paced 4-week course aims to get teachers and anyone interested in teaching online, acquainted with WizIQ and Moodle as a course and learning management system.
The course will combine both asynchronous and synchronous elements. The synchronous will include 5 live online classes with recordings, content (tips and tricks), and discussions. The live online classes will be delivered via the WizIQ Virtual Classroom on Saturdays at 10 AM (EST) and recordings of these classes will be available for future reference, in case somebody misses a class or would like to review the content.
Participants will be able to engage with the facilitators, each other, and the content on WizIQ in the MOOC course area. Unlike the traditional MOOCs that stress content and course delivery, Moodle MOOC will focus on active learning, reflection, sharing, and collaboration. It will enable participants to learn how Moodle can be used in fully online, blended learning, and the flipped class, through meaningful connections and social interactions.
Participants will be able to receive support and ask questions in advance and throughout the course in the course feed (discussion forum) in the course area on WizIQ and through a google drive document.
