A new environment app developed by the Environment Directorate General of the European Commission aims to teach kids (aged 7 – 11) about the importance of water in our society, how to use it in moderation, the impact of polluted water on wildlife and habitats and the benefits we get from clean water. The reader also learns about the hydrological cycle and how water treatment works.
The story features two children and their adventures with Fred, a well educated Frog who teaches them the error of their (and their parents’ ways). It is packed with fun animations and interactive features. On the practical side, there are plenty of tips of how to conserve water.
There are some teaching notes also available that give follow up activities, ideas prior to reading the ebook, and topics for discussion.
