Nearly 60% of Americans believe that U.S colleges and universities aren’t doing enough to prepare students for the job market. Are colleges’ lenient requirements for general education courses to blame? Some studies believe they may play a role.

We could run a graphic that shows we don’t know the name of Millard Fillmore’s wife, but that doesn’t demonstrate that we should or how it matters if we don’t.

    From 1910 on, reports on the ignorance of the American people have caught the imagination, but the facts selected to represent this ignorance have, obviously, not been the salient ones for continued national economic and political growth.
