Eggy Words App gets Australian release

ABC Reading Eggs has just released its first app, Eggy Words in Australia. The app was initially released in the United States in June and quickly showed up on the list of the top 25 most downloaded education apps.

ABC Reading Eggs’ Eggy Words 250 is an application designed to help children recognise and learn the essential sight words that make up a large part of everyday reading. Sight words are words that readers should know automatically “at sight”, such as he, the, was and where. This app covers the first 250 sight words using a fun and motivating game to keep kids learning.

Learning to read is an important milestone in every child’s life. Knowing these sight words makes fluent reading easier, which lets the brain focus on the real enjoyment of reading – comprehension – understanding and enjoying what you read. Children will do this while playing a fun game. The Eggy Words 250 app is designed to keep them engaged for many hours.

Eggy Words 250 was developed by the same team behind the popular educational website Reading Eggs. Developed by educators with more than 20 years’ experience, the Reading Eggs online reading program comes highly recommended by parents and teachers worldwide. In addition to full robust version, Eggy 250, there is also a slimmed down free version, Eggy 100 which contains the first 100 sight words.

Eggy Words will work on iPads, iPhones and android phones and tablets and is available by searching for Eggy 100 or Eggy 250 in Google Play or in iTunes.
